The Process
Whether you use our physical board game for an in-person event or the online version on a meeting platform, we work with you from start to finish to make the session relevant, valuable, and smooth-running.
Plan: We start with an introductory session where we learn about your group’s interests and circumstances. You can see the game in action.
Enroll: You can sign up for your organization or have individual team members sign up. Either way, we make sure everyone receives everything they need from the welcome email to the takeaway materials.
The Training: Everyone has a seat at the real or virtual table on game day. Everyone is involved and engaged and things move quickly—Gettin’ By is not another boring training!
Training Takeaways: Every individual and organization leaves Gettin’ By with steps they can take to improve their work with low-income people. Gettin’ By not only provides practical everyday tools to help people living in poverty but an ethical framework to build a poverty-sensitive mindset. People learn and grow from the Gettin’ By program and have easy steps to maintain what they learn every day.
Follow-Up: Finally, 6-weeks after the first Gettin’ By session we can provide a follow-up session to review what changes people have made from the program. This helps solidify the material and helps people keep on track!
The Day of Training
Our 2-hour training can be done both in person (with game board sets) or virtually (with an online version of the game). Additionally, we have options for sessions where the Gettin’ By team conducts the training in its entirety OR you can choose to “Do-It-Yourself.”
